Workers from Johnson Construction Company recently placed the canopy on the Oak Hill Amphitheater near city hall. Jim Lively Sr., who helped spearhead the amphitheater/green space project in 2010, welcomed the “really attractive” addition to the amphitheater. All told, approximately $257,000 has been spent on the project, with the majority of that coming from private donations. Lively hopes to see the commitment of another $25,000 to fund a first-class light and sound system, as well as a television screen. Tax-deductible contributions can be mailed to: Amphitheater Project, City of Oak Hill, P.O. Box 1245, Oak Hill, WV 25901. Or, call the city manager’s office at 304-469-9541. Checks should be made payable to the City of Oak Hill.
