Midland Trail High school soccer coaches Dave Pollard (boys), left in back, and Scott Wilson (girls), right in back, pose with their athletes who participated in the recent North-South Soccer All-Star Classic at Bridgeport. Shown from left in front are Mindy Sevy, Siera Brewer, Tyler Skaggs, Molly Sevy and Hannah Legg. Wilson said the Patriot girls have consistently placed players in the North-South contest, including five last year, as well as having players earning all-state status. The South Cardinals lost a 4-2 decision in the girls game. “They all did well,” Wilson said of the Patriot players. “I was very pleased with the way we played.” Skaggs was a contributor on a South boys team which lost a 2-0 decision to the North. He was the first North-South participant for the Trail boys program, which has made great strides in just two years in existence. Pollard said Skaggs was “selfless” this season in playing a majority of the time out-of-position due to team needs. “I’m happy for him,” he said.
