Winter wonderland

Icy temperatures have led to dangerous sidewalks and roads, inch after inch of snow has piled up all over Fayette County and teachers are afraid their charges will forget everything they have learned so far as the harsh winter continues. And yet beauty abounds in the magnificence of an Oak Hill sunrise last week, above, and the simplicity of snow-covered birdhouses. The National Weather Service is predicting more cold weather for early this week, warming up to the mid-20s by Thursday.
