While performing in Charleston, the local girls were able to meet and pose for photos with several state governmental leaders. Pictured from left are Kendra Ramsey, Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin, Sen. Bill Laird, Christa Neal, Perri Kiser, Heidi Morey, Senate President Jeff Kessler and House Speaker Richard Thompson. Laird prepared the way for the young musicians to represent West Virginia with the unique opportunity. “The CODA Mountain Academy and NRYSC students helped showcase West Virginia to 15 surrounding states,” said Senate President Jess Kessler. “West Virginia is filled with a rich heritage unmatched by most and best experienced through our greatest asset: people. The talented young people who performed at (the) event are remarkable, and those who heard them perform were left with a lasting impression that will remind them of West Virginia’s beauty for years to come.”
