In March, Ansted Elementary School sent three fifth-grade students to the Capitol to serve as pages for the state Legislature. Students shown are are Adam Gill, left, Haylie Hedrick and Nic Waugh. They are pictured with David Perry and Margaret Staggers, Fayette County representatives to the House of Delegates. While in the capital city, the students learned how a bill becomes a law and the important tasks our delegates perform. The students also met with many others. They enjoyed the experience immensely and when asked about his adventure, Adam Gill said, “If given the opportunity, I would love to participate again.” The students were given certificates of participation for their hard work and interest.
