Bill Clinton to visit Fayetteville today

From Staff Reports

FAYETTEVILLE — U.S. Sen. Hillary Clinton, vying for the Democratic presidential nomination with U.S. Sen. Barack Obama, visited West Virginia Wednesday and plans to be back today for a 10:15 a.m. rally in Charleston. A little later in the day, however, her husband, former President Bill Clinton, will visit Fayette County.

A stop to stump in Fayetteville will be sandwiched betweened visits to Philippi and Sutton earlier in the day, and Lewisburg and Mercer County later today.

According to Sharon Cruikshank, director of the Fayette County Chamber of Commerce and New River CVB, the former president will speak this afternoon at Fayetteville High School. Doors open at 3:15 p.m. Tickets will not be required and the public is invited.

The Clintons and their daughter, Chelsea, have made numerous visits to the Mountain State over the past months. In Fayette County, Chelsea Clinton last month visited the campus of WVU Tech in Montgomery.

West Virginia’s primary election is Tuesday, May 13. Polls open at 6:30 a.m. (see list of polling places elsewhere in this edition).
