Mary Arritt awarded UDC scholarship

The AARP held its general meeting July 28.

The opening prayer was given by Margie Stanley and the Pledge of Allegiance was repeated in unison.

Birthdays were recognized for the month of July. It was announced cards were sent to the hospitalized and shut-ins by Imogene Underwood.

Treasurer’s report was made by Ruth Hess, and Darlene Allen gave the secretary’s report.

The annual picnic will be Aug. 25 at the 4-H Camp, Shelter #6.

Several members of AARP will be calling Bingo for the residents at The Summit at Hidden Valley on Aug. 25.

The speaker was Steve Tyla; his topic was “Humorobics.”

If anyone is interested in joining the local chapter, call President Annetta Myers at 574-2372.

Entertainer for the meeting was Ivan McClelland.
