It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas, and the volunteers from the Fayette-Nicholas Chapter of the American Red Cross hope this week’s snow puts local residents in the Christmas shopping mood. The 19th annual American Red Cross Christmas Festival and Craft Show is set for Saturday, Nov. 3 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lewis Community Foundation’s Christian Community Center, 469 Central Ave., Oak Hill. There will be a large number of vendors offering handmade crafts and artwork. There will be entertainment throughout the day, as well as food concessions and a visit from Santa Claus. Admission will be by donation and those proceeds also will go to the local American Red Cross chapter. A Christmas tree will be located in the Center from Nov. 5 through Dec. 31 in honor of all servicemen and servicewomen. If you have someone in the service or someone who has ever served in any branch of the military, please put their name on an ornament; stop anytime and place the ornament on the tree. Ornaments also will be available at the Christmas Festival.
