Mitigation information offered for Fayette County residents

— The West Virginia Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Management and the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will be distributing mitigation materials to people at Lowe’s in Fayetteville through Oct. 12.

Lowe’s is located at 46 Fayette Town Center Rd. in Fayetteville. Hours are 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. Sundays.

FEMA specialists will be on hand to explain better building techniques that can lessen loss to homes, businesses and property from any future wind damage. Information also will be available for repairing damage to trees.

The public is encouraged to pick up informative materials and speak with mitigation experts about their homes and businesses.
