Tour Bluestone Dam on Sept. 5

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers has announced an open house and tour of Bluestone Dam Sept. 5 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The tours are free to the public.

The public can see dam safety construction activities and learn about the day-to-day operations of Bluestone Dam.

Water safety information will be available and the water safety robot, “Corey,” will make a special appearance. During the open house, the public can access the top of Bluestone Dam from the W.Va. 20 Overlook Parking Area and walk across the dam.

A guided tour of the interior of the dam will begin at 1 p.m. and last approximately one hour.

No bags or purses are permitted inside the dam and no photos or videotaping is allowed inside the dam.
