Dog obedience class coming up at New River

SUMMERSVILLE — The New River Community and Technical College Office of Workforce Education will offer a dog obedience training class at the Nicholas County Campus in Summersville this spring. The six-week class will be held on Thursdays from 6 to 8 p.m., April 3 through May 8.

The instructor is Mary Ann Kiser from Glade Creek. Kiser is a graduate of the Animal Behavior College (ABC) where she received her certification as an ABC Certified Mentor Trainer.

Although Kiser is a dog trainer she puts her love for dogs first. She knows from first-hand experience the difference dog training can make in the relationship between a dog and its owner.

“Without professional training it can sometimes be a frustrating relationship, but with an investment in good training, a wonderful transformation will occur,” she says.

Tuition is $100. To register, or for more information on this and other community education classes offered by New River CTC, please call 304-883-2446.
