Fayetteville celebrates state’s 150th birthday

Fayetteville celebrated West Virginia’s 150th birthday on June 20, with a birthday party at the Fayetteville Convention and Visitors Bureau complete with cake, candles, and the singing of “Happy Birthday.”

Nancy and Charlie Garvin provided live music for the event. Those in attendance enjoyed sampling cakes donated by local restaurants, and then had the opportunity to vote for their favorite cake.

The cake selected by the public as their favorite was the lemon and blueberry cake submitted by Diogi’s Latin Grill. The Fayetteville CVB wishes to thank Diogi’s, Musical Grounds European Coffeehouse, Wild Flour Bakery, and Kellie Pittman for donating cakes for the event.
