Summer day camp to begin in late July

FAYETTEVILLE — This summer, parents can keep kids physically active and mentally engaged by signing them up for the New River Gorge Learning Co-op (NRGLC) summer day camp, now open for registration.

The fun and learning at NRGLC summer camp begins July 29 and runs through Aug. 2, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The cost for campers ages 3-12 is $150 per child.

NRGLC offers CrossFit for kids, yoga, outdoor skills, nature walks, art, soap making, music and more.

“Summer is a great time for kids to explore in educational and recreational activities like summer camps that stimulate their mind and body, keeping them mentally engaged and physically active,” says Aimee Rist, president of the New River Gorge Learning Co-op.

“Our summer camp provides additional learning experiences outside the classroom that allow the kids to explore nature, get creative and connect with other kids. They have the opportunity to grow and thrive both as individuals and in groups.”

A nonprofit organization dedicated to nurturing the love of learning, NRGLC is now providing summer camp to continue that commitment.

With appropriate care and guidance of staff and volunteers, the child’s self-confidence, independence and joy of learning are fostered, says the organization.

Parents can register their children by contacting Aimee Rist at or 304-890-5794. Space is limited. Deadline to register is July 1.

NRGLC is a parent-run, Montessori-based learning center located in Fayette County. It offers a Primary Program for children ages 3 to 6 and an Elementary Program for children ages 6 to 11.
