The General Federation of Women’s Club’s (GFWC) Fayetteville Junior Woman’s Club named Ann Bibb Covington the 2012 Fayetteville Citizen of the Year award. Covington continues to be an inspiration to the community of Fayetteville as she faces life’s challenges with courage, faithfulness and fortitude. She has served in a variety of roles in the community including as a member and leader at Fayetteville United Methodist Church; Girl Scouts; Little League; employee of the Fayette County Board of Education; and a member of the GFWC of Fayetteville. Fayetteville Juniors are proud to salute Ann’s generous and strong spirit.

Tamarack will hold a jury session Aug. 29 with opportunities for products in these categories: dried flowers/wheat weaving; pottery; knitted items; adult apparel (dresses, shirts, jackets, tops, vests, etc.); decorative painting on wood and/or metal; leather purses; jewelry (original, unique designs with handmade components); candles (carved, seasonal, soy); stained glass; hand-blown glass; framed and or matted calligraphy; handmade toys and colorful metal sculptures.
