Domino’s Pizza damaged in early morning fire

An early morning fire at Domino’s Pizza in Oak Hill appears to be accidental, but caused an estimated $40,000 to $50,000 in damages, said Bob Begley, assistant chief for Oak Hill Fire Department.

Begley said 20 total firefighters — 15 from Oak Hill and 5 from the Fayetteville Fire Department — arrived the scene after the call at 6:49 a.m. Wednesday. The fire in the building created heavy smoke but crews were able to control the fire within approximately 10 minutes, Begley said.

No one was inside the business, located 1108 E. Main St., when the fire began and there were no injuries. Begley said the cause of the fire is still under investigation; but, it does not appear to be suspicious.

Begley said the exterior of the building was not significantly damaged, but there was heat and smoke damage to the interior.
