For the past three decades plus, the Fayette Toy Fund “has provided a special Christmas for many boys and girls,” according to Susan Ingram of the Oak Hill Rotary Club, which has taken over the organization of the program.
The numbers have grown from a few children in Mount Hope in the first days of the drive’s creation by Kathryn Lancianese, to hundreds of children from all around Fayette County today in the program’s 32nd year.
“Each year at this time there is a great need in our community. Many children go without a toy at Christmas. The Fayette Toy Fund, Inc. wants to make Christmas a special time for the children in need in our community,” Ingram writes. “Please help us to continue to make Christmas a special time again this year.”
The Toy Fund’s annual Christmas party is set for Dec. 15 at the Lewis Community Foundation’s Christian Community Center.
