Historic Fayette Theater for the last 20 years has worked to bring quality plays and music to the area, as well as serving as a venue for local organizations. The theater was originally started by the Fayette County Historical Society and opened June 20, 1993. For its opening, Charlie McCoy and Jon Kemper performed.
In 2011, the theater building was purchased with the help of many contributors and it became its own independent, non-profit corporation.
This year also marks the 75th anniversary of the reopening of the theater building by Grant Thomas.
HFT is located at 115 S. Court St., Fayetteville, and more information can be found at www.historicfayettetheatre.com.
