Mount Hope man arrested for burglary

A Fayette County man was arrested last week for the burglary of a Kilsyth Road residence, according to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.

Kenneth Jesse James, 52, of Mount Hope, was arrested on felony burglary charges and transported to Southern Regional Jail, police said.

Fayette County Emergency Operations Center received a call at approximately 8 p.m. Tuesday about a suspicious male on the front porch of a residence on Kilsyth Road. The caller told the dispatcher the homeowner was out of town, so no one should be at the residence.

While police were en route to the scene, dispatchers updated the responding officers that the male had gained entry into the home.

The officers found that James had entered the home through a window. He was then apprehended with the assistance of a K-9 unit.

This incident remains under investigation by Deputy S.K. Neal of the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.

“Our K-9 teams are an extremely valuable asset to our law enforcement community,” Sheriff Steve Kessler said.

“In this particular case, the K-9 unit’s apprehension dog was able to subdue and restrain the burglary suspect so that the deputy sheriff could safely place him in custody without further incident.”
