Fayette man dies in accident on County Park Road

A Fayette County man is dead after a Friday night accident in the Beckwith area, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office confirmed Saturday.

Sheriff Steve Kessler reported that Michael Lee Bryson, 32, of Minden, died after a single-vehicle crash on Fayette County Park Road around 8:40 p.m. Friday.

Police determined the 2001 Daewoo driven by Bryson struck the guardrail, went airborne, and then crashed about 60 feet over an embankment.

The driver did not appear to have been wearing a seat belt, was partly ejected, and was pronounced dead at the scene, the sheriff said.

It has not yet been determined if drugs or alcohol were a factor in this accident and the approximate speed of the vehicle at the time of the crash has not been determined.

The accident remains under investigation by Lt. L.A. Crisp.

Fayette County Sheriff’s Department, Fayetteville Fire Department and General Ambulance Service responded to the accident.
