The Historic Fayette Theater is gearing up for its 2012 Drama Camp with this year’s theme to be “In the Spotlight!”
Drama Camp will be held at HFT, 115 S. Court St., Fayetteville, June 11-15. The children will learn many aspects of theater, including, but not limited to stage direction, script reading and writing, puppetry, theater make-up, costuming, set production and auditioning techniques for future performances.
Anyone who is interested in acting or any aspect of theater is encouraged to attend.
A full week of day camp is open to children ages 8 to 15 at the cast of $60 per camper. Camp runs from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.
Camp for children ages 5 to 7 years old will be June 16 from noon to 6 p.m.; the cost is $30. They will be a part of the evening performance.
Registration forms may be printed from the theater’s website, historicfayettetheater.com, or picked up at the theater.
All registration fees must be paid for at time of registration; deadline to register is June 5.
The registration fee includes a Drama Camp T-shirt. A video of Drama Camp can also be purchased for a minimal fee.
Snacks will be provided, but campers will need to bring a nonperishable sack lunch, that does not need to be heated or refrigerated.
“In the Spotlight” performance will be held June 16 at 7 p.m. and is open to the public for a charge of $5 per person tickets go on sale June 14 at the theater only.
