E. Gordon Gee, president of West Virginia University (WVU), surprised students, faculty and staff on the campus of WVU Institute of Technology (WVU Tech) Wednesday with a visit to the Student Success Center, the popular studying spot on campus where students also receive advising and tutoring.
“We are so pleased to have President Gee visit us to meet our talented students, faculty and staff and to see the great work that happens here with the support of the WVU system and the WVU Tech community,” said WVU Tech CEO Carolyn Long.
Students had an opportunity to meet President Gee, take photos and share stories of their academic progress and Golden Bear pride. Faculty and staff were excited to meet with President Gee and discuss the ways they support students in academics and preparing for the workforce.
After his visit to the Student Success Center, President Gee stopped by Dr. Andrea Kent’s state and local government class to speak with students about their career aspirations.
“I love the spirit of this place. WVU Tech is a small institution with a big sprit and is very important to the university,” said President Gee about his visit to WVU Tech.
