Fayette man arrested for alleged liquor store holdup

OAK HILL — Joseph Louis Cardinal, 30, of Fayette County, was arrested Monday in connection to Friday’s armed robbery of the Co-Mac Liquor Store in Oak Hill.

Warrants for Cardinal’s arrest were obtained Monday afternoon, after which he was arrested by officers from the Oak Hill Police Department and charged with one count of first-degree armed robbery.

Chief Mike Whisman of the Oak Hill Police Department said the case was assisted by the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office, the West Virginia State Police and several tips from local community members.

Cardinal was to be arraigned in Fayette County Magistrate Court.
