SALS is taking donations for those affected by MCHM spill

BEARDS FORK — In response to a plea for help from Rev. Jeff Allen, director of the West Virginia Council of Churches, the Southern Appalachian Labor School (SALS) is collecting items to be delivered to those in need in the nine-county area of West Virginia affected by the Jan. 10 chemical spill in the Elk River.

Items being collected are ready- made baby formula, diapers, nonperishable food, and distilled water.   

If you have supplies or funds that could be donated, call SALS and leave a message at 304-465-9732, 304-779-2772 or 304-465-4246 or contact Rev. Jeff Allen directly at  304-344-3141.

 Items also can be dropped off locally at The Historic Oak Hill School or the SALS Community Center in Beards Fork. The mailing address is SALS, PO Box 127, Kincaid, WV 25119 or the WV Council of Churches, 2207 Washington Street East, Charleston, WV 25311.
