Pollard earns degree

Rebecca Pollard, daughter of Dave and Lynn Pollard of Oak Hill, received Bachelor of Science degrees in Animal Science and Biology from the University of Findlay in Findlay, Ohio. A 2009 graduate of Oak Hill High School, Pollard will begin pursuit of a Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at Ross University this fall.

While at Findlay Pollard was a member of the Academic Quadrathlon Team which represented the university at a national competition hosted by Iowa State University, placing fifth among 16 competing schools.

She was inducted in Mortar Board National Honor Society, Sigma Pzi Research Society, and the Scholarship and Research Society.

Following a four-year high school career, Pollard earned a soccer scholarship as an invited walk-on at Findlay, but left the Division II program after her freshman year to pursue her ultimate goal of earning admission to veterinary school.

Ross is one of just 29 fully accredited schools of veterinary medicine serving the United States and is located on the Caribbean Island of St. Kitts in the West Indies.
