Daughter of Oak Hill couple is Mrs. West Virginia

The Mrs. West Virginia America Pageant directorship is proud to announce that Kassandra Milam, 34, of Summersville, was crowned Mrs. West Virginia 2013 in February. Kassandra competed with 15 other women in interview, swimsuit, evening gown and on stage question to win the title at the Little Theater in Charleston.

Kassandra was born in Beckley and is the daughter of Mark and Jean Skaggs of Oak Hill. She lives in Summersville with her husband, Joseph, and two children, ages 5 and 1.

She works full-time as a pediatrician in her community at Summersville Pediatrics and Summersville Regional Medical Center.

She is an alumnus of Emory and Henry College (Emory, Va.) and the West Virginia School of Osteopathic Medicine (Lewisburg). She completed her residency training in pediatrics at West Virginia University Children’s Hospital and the WVU school of Medicine.

She will travel to Tucson, Ariz., in August to represent West Virginia as she competes against 51 other ladies for Mrs. America 2013.
