Antolini leaving Beckley Newspapers position

Carl J. “Butch” Antolini, executive editor and general manager at Beckley Newspapers, has announced that he will be leaving his post July 19 to pursue other interests.

Antolini started at Beckley Newspapers in August 2005 as executive editor and in addition to that position he was promoted to general manager in May 2009.

“Butch has been an integral part of our management team since he arrived here eight years ago and has been actively involved in all facets of our newspaper operation as well as being active in the community,” said Beckley Newspapers publisher Frank D. Wood. “We appreciate his many contributions and wish him well.”

“I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time at Beckley Newspapers and will be excited to watch the operation continue to grow and adapt in this digital age,” Antolini said. “While I will certainly miss the job, other opportunities have become available to me and I am looking forward to the future.”

He added that he and his family intend to continue residing in the local area.

Wood said a national search has been launched for Antolini’s replacement.
