Info session slated

SUMMERSVILLE — New River Community and Technical College invites the public to an information session to determine interest in expanding its Paramedic Certificate Program into Nicholas County. The meeting will take place on Wednesday, Dec. 19, at 6 p.m. at New River’s Office of Workforce Education in Northside Shopping Center, 830 Northside Drive, Suite 160, Summersville.

Faculty from New River will give a presentation on the Paramedic Certificate Program, followed by a question and answer session. The Paramedic Certificate program is an intensive one-year program designed to prepare students for careers as paramedics in a variety of healthcare settings as well as preparing and making them eligible to participate in the National Registry for EMT’s testing program leading to national certification. The curriculum provides students with classroom, lab, field, and clinical experiences in a variety of emergency care environments and facilities.
