Earth Day fundraiser set at Gumbo’s Cajun Restaurant

Gumbo’s Cajun Restaurant and the Fayette County Green Advisory Team will be teaming up for a day of fundraising. On March 25, Gumbo’s is donating 50 percent of the sales for its vegetarian red beans and rice dish. But feel free to order anything at any time on this special day, because a percentage of sales for the entire day will be donated to the 9th annual New River Earth Day Celebration. Bring the family out, or grab a friend and come enjoy a delicious meal for lunch (starting at 11:30 a.m.), or dinner until 9 p.m.

There also will be live music to accompany your Cajun experience from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Come listen to the acoustic jams brought to you by Fayetteville’s very own George Walberg.

Proceeds go to help fund the 9th annual Earth Day Celebration on Saturday, April 19 in Downtown Fayetteville. Bring the family to learn about recycling/composting, alternative energy, water conservation, sustainability and reducing our ecological footprint. There will be fun activities for all ages. Enjoy local foods and crafts, live music and Fayetteville’s cool small town culture. Educational booths and conservation activities will capture your children’s interest and will be enlightening for the whole family.

A special “thank you” is extended to Bridgeview Urgent Care for being the Earth Day Advocate for 2014.
