SALS to sponsor summer food program

The Southern Appalachian Labor School announces the sponsorship of the Summer Food Service Program at the SALS Community Center in Beards Fork, Montgomery City Pool and the Historic Oak Hill School. In accordance with federal law and U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) policy, this institution is prohibited from discriminating on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.

If a child is a member of a food stamp (SNAP) household or an TANF assistance, the child is automatically eligible to receive free program meal benefits, subject to completion of the free/reduced application form.

Eligibility for free and reduced price meal reimbursement is based on the following income scales: one (household size), $20,665 (annual income), $1,723 (monthly income); two, $27,991, $2,333; three, $35,317, $2,944; four, $42,643, $3,354; five, $49,969, $4,165; six, $57,295, $4,775; seven, $64,621, $5,386; eight, $71,947, $5,996. For each additional family member, add $7,326 and $611.
