ARC’s annual Ride for the Red slated for May 18

BECKLEY — Motorcycle riders from throughout the region will be out in force for a great cause on Saturday, May 18.

The Ride for the Red-Southern West Virginia Tour is a motorcycle fundraiser aimed at benefiting the vital programs and services offered by the American Red Cross West Virginia Region.

All bike models are welcome, said Stephanie Meadows, the development coordinator for the Red Cross in the Beckley area.

The event — with upwards of 150 riders anticipated — will begin at Cole Harley-Davidson in Bluefield and end late that day at Daniel Vineyards in Crab Orchard. Rider registration is planned for 9 to 10:30 a.m. at Cole Harley-Davidson, with kick-stands up set for 10:45 a.m.

Following the ride, all participants are invited to join the Red Cross at Daniel Vineyards for dinner, live music and a chance to win door prizes.

Meadows stresses that riders must register to take part, and the earlier the better. For information regarding event participation, contact her at 304-673-1788 or stephanie.meadows@redcross.org.

To join those already helping to sponsor the event, contact Becky Howard at 304-340-3656 or becky.howard@redcross.org.
