Divide students take part in exhibit

On Saturday, March 23, Cassidy White attended the gallery opening of  “Color Wheel” at Tamarack.  Cassidy’s work was included in the show.

All art works shown in the Dickerson Fine Arts Gallery are on sale to the public. Her painting is also part of the Youth Arts in the Parks collection.

Cassidy’s work represents all participating K-2 students in a four-county area. The New River National Park Service, in order to generate interest in the 10th Annual Wildflower Weekend, sponsors the art competition. Park Ranger Jodi French-Burr coordinates the show, which will be on exhibit April 1-29 at Tamarack.

Fayette County students at Divide Elementary captured six of the 20 spots for Fayette County students at all grade levels. Art teacher Christy Gill says the students have gained greater awareness of the beautiful wildflowers that grow in our region. They were very interested in drawing and learning the names of the various wildflowers.
