Biggs named Lion of Year

— Lion Charlie Biggs was honored as Mount Hope Lion of the Year at a Partners in Service meeting held at the Mount Hope Lions Club.

Lion Biggs has held many positions in the club, including president, treasurer, and serving on numerous committees in the club.

He became a Lion in March 1979 and has been active since his induction.

He is serving presently as president of the West Virginia Lions Sight Conservation Foundation which provides eye surgery and hearing aids to any West Virginian in need. In addition to this position, he is chairperson of the State Lions Convention to be held at Pipestem State Park Resort in Pipestem, to be held May 31 through June 2.

Biggs is a Melvin Jones Fellow, one of the highest awards one can receive in Lionism, and a Leonard Jarrett Recipient, awarded to West Virginia Lions.
