— The Cub Scouts of Pack 4008 held the Pinewood Derby for their Cub Scout Pack on Monday, Feb. 25 at the Oak Hill Gospel Tabernacle. The derby is one of the most anticipated events of the Cub Scout experience for both the boys and their families. It has been a tradition for many years.

This year the first place car in the Tiger Cub den belonged to Wyatt Oxley. In the Wolf Cub den, first place went to Kinley O’Dell, and Alex Huddleston’s car was first in the Bear Cub den. First place for the Webelos den was Evan Cassidy.

The three fastest cars in the pack advanced to the Seneca District Pinewood Derby which was held at the State Fairgrounds in Fairlea. On Saturday, March 16, Kinley O’Dell, Alex Huddleston and Evan Cassidy went to the State Fairgrounds to race the other fastest cars in other Cub Scout packs. Not only did these boys make Cub Scout Pack 4008 proud with the racing skills, they also displayed good sportsmanship and good manners and represented our pack and the Cub Scout organization proudly.

Now the three boys advance to the Buckskin Council Pinewood Derby race which will be held on Saturday, April 13 at the State Fairgrounds in Fairlea.

We are very proud of these boys and know that they will continue to represent Oak Hill and Cub Scouts everywhere with the attitude that is as important as the uniform they wear and the organization of which they are a part.
