‘Music in the Park’ series scheduled in Fayetteville

FAYETTEVILLE — A new gazebo has been placed in Janutolo Park in Fayetteville and will soon play host to a series of “Music in the Park” events, according to Sally Kiner of the Fayetteville Convention and Visitors Bureau.

The gazebo, purchased with grant funding, creates a natural venue for outdoor entertainment, the executive director of the CVB said last week in a press release.

“We will be hosting live music events, and hope to bring other special happenings to the park; possibly theatrical presentations, ice cream socials, art displays, and movies. We want to enhance the use of the beautiful Janutolo Park to bring local residents and visitors together in town to relax and refresh.”

Upcoming music events are as follows:

-- Saturday, Aug. 31, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. — Firecreek;

-- Sunday, Sept. 1, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. — Christopher Danz;

-- Saturday, Sept. 7, 8:45 to 11 a.m. — Nancy and Charlie Garvin; and

-- Saturday, Sept. 7, 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. — Katrina Brown.

Everyone is invited to bring their lawn chairs or blankets and enjoy Music in the Park.

For additional information and details on future events, contact the Fayetteville Convention and Visitors Bureau at 304-574-1500 or visit them online at
