Local restaurant, view named state’s favorites

The Cathedral Cafe and New River Gorge earned top honors in the inaugural Best of West Virginia Awards conducted by WV Living Magazine.

The Cathedral Cafe in Fayetteville was voted the best coffee shop and the New River Gorge in Lansing was named the best scenic view in the state.

After months of gathering votes from its readers, the magazine announced the results of the competition earlier this month in the Fall 2013 issue. Each winner is featured in the current issue of WV Living Magazine and online at wvliving.com.

The competition was intense and included more than 50 categories including specialty shops, museums, parks, and businesses.

“The awards were designed to honor the cream of the crop and celebrate all that is great about West Virginia,” Nikki Bowman, WV Living Magazine editor in chief said. “The winners are truly beloved and handpicked by our readers.”

WV Living is available on newsstands around the state and by purchasing online at wvliving.com/store.

WV Living magazine is part of the New South Media, Inc. family that includes six unique print and online publications about life and living in West Virginia. New South Media, Inc. is located in Morgantown.
