Rebecca Casto honored at Davis & Elkins

ELKINS — Davis & Elkins College honored outstanding students during its spring 2012 Academic Awards and Recognition Convocation held at Davis Memorial Presbyterian Church, an annual tradition that recognizes academic achievement in each department as well as leadership on campus.

Rebecca Casto received an academic achievement award from the Biology and Environmental Science Department.

Casto, an environmental science major, is the daughter of Kim and Agnes Casto of Fayetteville.

Rebecca Pollard named to dean’s list

FINDLAY, Ohio, — The dean’s list for spring semester at The University of Findlay has been announced by Daniel J. May, Ph.D., vice president of academic affairs.

Among those who attained a grade point average of at least 3.5 on a 4.0 scale was Rebecca Pollard of Oak Hill.

Pollard is a biology/animal science major.

 



Coville earns degree

ALFRED, N.Y. — Catherine Coville of Mount Hope graduated from Alfred State during the commencement ceremony held on Sunday, May 13.

Coville graduated from the Health Information Technology program.

Over 800 two- and four-year degree candidates received diplomas from Alfred State this spring. Associate and baccalaureate degrees were awarded in fields of agriculture, health, business, vocational, and engineering technology, as well as the arts and sciences.

 



New River announces honorees for spring

BECKLEY — New River Community and Technical College has announced the president’s list and dean’s list students for the spring semester.

In order to be named to the president’s list, students must earn a 4.0 average and carry a minimum of 12 credit hours, not including any developmental classes.

To be named to the dean’s list, students must earn a 3.25 or higher average grade point average, carry 12 or more college hours, not including developmental classes, and receive no Ds or Fs in any class for the semester.

Earning the president’s list designation for the spring semester were the following area students.

Meadow Bridge — Joseph Moul
