MOUNT HOPE —
A free day camp in Mount Hope next week will offer kids a trip around the world with their bellies as vehicles.
The camp’s theme is “Food & Culture Around the World.”
“We are using a curriculum that explores nutrition, physical activity, and reading by taking a tour around the world,” says Fayette County WVU Extension Agent Andrea Bowman.
The WVU Extension Service and New River Health Association’s Mt. Hope CareLink Grant team will sponsor the camp. It will run from Aug. 6 to Aug. 10 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. daily at the Mt. Hope Housing Authority, Midtown Terrace.
The week of activities is free and open to students in grades 3-6.
To sign up, call the WVU Extension Service by Aug. 3 at 304-574-4253.
Bowman is also looking for volunteers to assist with the camp on various days throughout the week.
