Mega Pro Wrestling plans Montgomery show

Mega Pro Wrestling will stage a professional wrestling card this Friday, April 25, at the Living Waters Family Worship Center (former Montgomery Middle School building) in Montgomery.

The location was listed incorrectly in a story in the print edition of The Fayette Tribune this week. Doors will open at 7 p.m., with a bell time of 7:30 p.m.

As Mega Pro has done in the past, some of the proceeds from the event will benefit a charity — in this case the fight against MS. There will also be a raffle for autographed items.

Chris Hughes, the Mega Pro Wrestling promoter, says a friend from his high school days in Gauley Bridge is battling MS.

“It hits home with me because I was raised with her,” he said. “Hopefully we can draw (a good crowd).”

Among the participants are slated to be Rock n’ Roll Express Ricky Morton and Rock n’ Roll Express Tommy Gibson, The Raging Bull Manny Fernandez and WCW star Scott Mckeaver, all whom will participate in a legends tournament bracket to advance to the Elite Eight of a 32-man tournament.

There will be a four-man tournament to crown a new No. 1 heavyweight contender. Featured will be Raw Talent, Smokey C, The Viper and Dr. Destruction.

Also, Eric Steel and Kevin Tyler will square off in a heavyweight championship match. There will be seven matches all told.

All WVU Tech students get in half-off price on all tickets. They must show their Tech ID.

Tickets are $15 for front row, $10 for general admission, $5 for children 4-12, and free for under-4.
