— Threat preparedness — FCHD is seeking volunteers. For more information, please call 304-574-1617 ext. 305.
— Clinic — FCHD offers free or low-cost services to eligible patients including clinical breast examinations, Pap tests, mammograms and diagnostic testing referrals for underinsured. Clinics are held every other Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 p.m. by appointment only.
— January is Cervical Health Awareness Month. Have you had your Pap test?
— Immunizations — Flu shots and TB testing are available on Wednesday from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 3 p.m.
— Environmental health — The FDA Food Code, septic and well information, and application forms can be found on the EH website. Please check it out (see website above).
— Food handler cards — People who serve food to the public in settings, including churches, fairs/festivals, and concession stands must have a food handler card. Test study guides are available at the FCHD. The testing fee is $10. Food handler cards are good for three years.
— Nuisance complaints — Nuisance complaints are followed up on a most critical basis. FCHD receives many complaints and depending on the severity of the issue, it may take a while to get a complaint addressed. Form SG-51 (Nuisance Investigation Report) must be submitted to the FCHD. Please complete the form with as much information as possible. All complaints are kept confidential. Please do not make anonymous complaint calls, as many times we need to ask the complaintent for more details. We can’t help you if we can’t get in touch with you.
— Trash complaints — Trash complaints are taken care of by the Fayette County Solid Waste Authority. If you have a trash complaint, please call Joe Carelli at 340-574-4316.
