Page-Kincaid recognizes Grant’s 30 years of service

— Mary Grant, the bookkeeper/cashier at the Page-Kincaid PSD for 30 years, retired in early April. Mary started with the PSD in 1983 as the cashier, working with the PSD’s former bookkeeper Dorothy Jeffers. Upon the retirement of Dorothy Jeffers, Mary assumed the duties of bookkeeper and office manager in 2008. Mary also possessed a Class I water operator license and served in a back-up capacity to Bart Jackson.

While working for the PSD, Mary kept up with her church work which included being a pastor’s wife to her husband, Gerald, pastor of the Kincaid First Church of God. Mary was the church treasurer, song leader, junior church leader and Sunday school teacher. Mary was very active with the Women of the Church of God group, keeping records, compiling the history book of the WCG and attending state and national conventions.

Mary is also recognized in the Professional Women’s Who’s Who in the United States.

On March 29, a retirement tribute was given by the PSD. It was a catered event with over 25 friends and co-workers in attendance. Good food, a good time and kind words were enjoyed by all.

It’s a sad but joyous time that Mary is retiring. Mary will be very much missed by everyone at the PSD as well as those whose life she has touched.
