Kindergarten registration, well-child screenings set

Fayette County Schools officials are preparing for 2010-2011 kindergarten registration and preventive health/well-child screenings in March. Sessions will run from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. as follows:

March 5 — Oak Hill High School: Fayetteville Elementary, Gatewood Elementary, Mount Hope Elementary and Rosedale Elementary;

March 12 — Midland Trail High School: Ansted Elementary, Danese Elementary, Divide Elementary and Meadow Bridge Elementary; and

March 19 — Valley High School: Valley Elementary and Gauley Bridge Elementary;

March 26 — Oak Hill High School: New River Elementary.

Current kindergarten students will not report to school on their school’s enrollment date.

Children must be five years old on or before Sept. 1, 2010 in order to register to attend kindergarten for the 2010-2011 school term.

The following information must be taken to the appropriate attendance zone registration site:

*Certified birth certificate (certified from the State Registrar: WV Department of Vital Statistics);

Immunization records;

Child’s Social Security card; and

Proof of preventive health screen/well-child exam in last 12 months (Well child exams available on-site for children in need of this exam.)

*Forms will be available at all registration sites to request certified WV birth certificates. Please bring a check or money order for $12 payable to the WV Department of Vital Statistics.
