School bus driver waives hearing

— A Fayette County Schools bus driver accused of sexually assaulting and abusing a teenage girl has waived his preliminary hearing.

Steven “Rick” Malay, 54, was arraigned and released on bond on Jan. 3.

He is charged with two counts of third degree sexual assault and two counts of sexual abuse by a person of trust, according to West Virginia State Police.

The alleged victim is a 14-year-old girl in the Fayette County School system.

The case will now be bound over to the next term of the Fayette County grand jury.
