Red Cross blood drives scheduled


— Red Cross blood supplies are at the lowest level in 15 years, according to Robert Lutjen of Appalachian Blood Services Region in Roanoke. A June appeal for donors helped the decline temporarily, but there continues to be an emergency need for all blood types.

The following information is subject to change. Call 1-800-RED CROSS to confirm drive dates and times before attending.

Aug. 13, Lewis Community Building, Oak Hill, noon to 6 p.m.

Aug. 14, Lifebridge Assembly of God, Oak Hill, noon to 6 p.m.; MacArthur Walmart, 1 to 6 p.m.

Aug. 15, Crossroads Mall, noon to 5 p.m.; Beckley Blood Donation Center, noon to 6 p.m.

Aug. 21, Beckley Lowe’s, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Aug. 22, Crossroads Mall, 2 to 7 p.m.; Beckley Blood Donation Center, noon to 6 p.m.

Aug. 23, Summersville Regional Medical Center, 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Aug. 24, Fayetteville High School, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
