Oak Hill Tea Festival

The Oak Hill Tea Festival is held each year in conjunction with the Oak Leaf Festival. The Tea Festival is scheduled from 12 to 6 p.m. Aug. 25 at 225 Church Street. Oak Hill Tea Festival Schedule of Events



(The Tea Festival will be held Aug. 25 from 12 to 6 p.m. at 225 Church Street, Oak Hill.)



Featured teas: mango tea, mint julep tea and our special blend Jafary tea

Hourly workshops will be offered by a herbalist from Academy on:

-- Making tinctures

-- Making herbal oils

-- Help for menopause

-- Natural herbs for diabetes

-- Learning to live with fibromyalgia

-- Handmade paper and collage



12 to 12:20 — History of tea and its health benefits, Dr. Hassan Amjad (classroom/limit 24)

12:30 to 12:50 — Simple herbs for common illnesses, Janice Sumpter (classroom/limit 24)

1 p.m. — Queen Victoria II “taking tea” in full costume dress by local artist/designer Paul Contin (Tea Pavilion)

2 p.m. — Chi Gong with Dr. Gus Saldana and yoga with Harmony Koplov (Tea Pavilion)

3 p.m. — Japanese Tea Ceremony as practiced in Japan (Tea Pavilion)

3:30 to 3:50 — Herbs everyone can use/weeds in your backyard, Eva Risti (classroom/limit 24)

4 to 4:20 — How the water you drink affects your health, Bev Walkup (classroom/limit 24)

4:30 to 5 — Wild Flowers of Glade Creek, Cranberry Glades and Kate Mountain (classroom/limit 24)
