New credit union office sets open house

— Alloy Federal Credit Union will have an open house on Thursday, Oct. 18, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the new office located at 3574 Midland Trail in Alloy.

“We are excited about our new location. It reflects our continued commitment to better serve our members,” said Kelli Vance, CEO.

To become  a member of Alloy Federal Credit Union you have to live, work, worship or attend school in Fayette County or be an immediate family member of a current member.

The almost 2900-square-foot facility features two drive-up lanes and will have a drive-up ATM in the near future.

Alloy FCU is a full service financial cooperative equally owned by its members and governed by a volunteer board of directors. Originally chartered in 1970, the credit union has steadily grown to almost 20 million in asset size, serving over 3300 members.

“Our board of directors feels that this location will serve our membership in a more convenient manner,” Vance said.

Alloy FCU is regulated by the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA), an agency of the federal government.

“While we have seen many changes through the years, we will continue to operate as a not-for-profit cooperatively owned business which belongs to the people who use it,” Ray Phillips, board president, said.
