— A Fayette County man was arrested on drug charges Thursday, according to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department.

David Alfonzo Bohanna, 57, was charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver, a felony offense. Officers from the Central West Virginia Drug Task Force, Fayette County Sheriff’s and West Virginia State Police executed a search warrant at the B&G Sports Bar and Grill, located on Michigan Avenue in Smithers.

Several Opana prescription pills, six bags of marijuana, a set of digital scales and more than $1,500 in cash was seized.

Officers secured a search warrant after using an informant to make a controlled purchase of drugs from the business earlier Thursday evening. Bohanna was arraigned in Fayette County Magistrate Court and he is being held on $10,000 bond at Southern Regional Jail.

“We anticipate that additional charges will be filed against Mr. Bohanna in the near future,” Sheriff Steve Kessler said.

“Charges may be filed against other individuals in connection with this case as well. The investigation into drug trafficking offenses in the Valley area of Fayette County is ongoing and continuing. Rest assured, our work in this area is not yet done.”
