Car clubs invited to join association

— Did you happen to see a parade of classical cars and trucks around Southern West Virginia Saturday, Oct. 12? That was the Southern W.Va. Car Club Association (SWVCCA) holding its 11th annual cruise and picnic at Camp Creek State Forest Park.

The SWVCCA consists of 42 non-profit car clubs from around Southern West Virginia joining together to better their communities. The clubs range from Lewisburg to Summersville and from New Castle, Va. to Tazewell. They have joined together to assist each other and coordinate their car shows.

The club is led by club president Ron Ness of the Lewisburg Throttle Throbs Car Club. The cruise and picnic was planned by club activity coordinators Jerri and Dempsey Murphy of the Mountain Memories Car Club, Princeton.

The SWVCCA will meet Jan. 11, 2014, at the Beckley Moose Lodge to plan the 2014 shows.

Clubs are not limited to the state of West Virginia and members do not have to belong to a car club to join the SWVCCA.
