Bridge Day Chili Cook-Off scheduled in Fayetteville

The Fayetteville Convention and Visitors Bureau (Fayetteville CVB) is sponsoring the 5th Annual Bridge Day Chili Cook-Off in conjunction with the annual Bridge Day celebration, on Saturday, Oct. 19. Contests will include a chili and cornbread cook-off. Judges will award cash prizes to the cook-off winners, along with a People’s Choice winner for chili. The chili competition includes professional and amateur categories with traditional and non-traditional recipes for both chili and cornbread.

“We are searching for cooks who want to show off their favorite recipes; secret ingredients, special seasonings and all! The Bridge Day Chili Cook-off is a fun way to see how your concoction stacks up against others,” said Fayetteville CVB Executive Director Sally Kiner.

The cook-off begins just as activities on the bridge are winding down. “Live music provided by The Wild Rumpus starts at 2:30 p.m. and the chili tasting and judging begins at 3:00 and runs until about 5:30. Awards are presented at 5:30 p.m. Take in all that Bridge Day has to offer. You can enjoy a full day of big time fun in one of America’s coolest small towns!”

For information on how to register as a cook and/or for other questions concerning the Bridge Day Chili Cook-off, contact the Fayetteville CVB at 304-574-1500 or visit www.VisitFayettevilleWV.com.
