Deadline extended for children’s pageant

— Because of a low number of entries in the Oak Leaf Festival Children’s Pageant, director Kristi Atha-Rader has extended the deadline for entry.

The children’s pageant is set for Sunday, Aug. 25 with registration beginning at 1 p.m. The deadline for entries has been extended until Saturday, Aug. 24 following the Oak Leaf Festival/Bridge Day pageant or until all open spaces are filled.

Registration fee is $75 and entries may be e-mailed to katha17@aol.com. Information and entry forms are available at www.missoakleaffestival.com.

Age divisions are 0-3 years and 4-6 years for boys, and 0-12 months, 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8 and 9-10 years for girls. Titles awarded will be Baby Miss Oak Leaf Grand Supreme, Little Miss Oak Leaf Grand Supreme, Junior Miss Oak Leaf Grand Supreme, Little Mr. Oak Leaf Grand Supreme, Baby Miss Fayette County Grand Supreme, Little Miss Fayette County Grand Supreme, and Junior Miss Fayette County Grand Supreme. There will be no double crowning.

A crowd favorite award, photogenic awards and age category awards also will be given.

Pageant clothing is your choice in fall colors or fall themed.
