Burglary suspect sought in Fayette County

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Department is searching for a man who allegedly burglarized an Edmond home last Monday evening and fled the scene with firearms and jewelry.

At approximately 5:44 p.m., a 23-year-old man was home alone at his parents’ home on Lansing-Edmond Road when he was confronted by another man who had entered the home and was brandishing a short-barrel revolver.

The intruder ordered the resident upstairs and into a bathroom, then blocked the door with a large piece of furniture, the Fayette County Sheriff’s Department said.

The victim told police that shortly after being forced into the bathroom, he heard the sound of an ATV leaving the home.

The man who entered the home is described as approximately 6 feet tall, 250 pounds and wearing a black ski mask, black hooded jacket, black cloth gloves and jeans, the Sheriff’s Department said. The man’s race is not known.

The incident remains under investigation by Detective Sgt. G.A. Chapman. Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office at 304-574-4305, Crime Stoppers at 304-255-7867 or submit a tip online at http://fayettesheriffwv.net.
